Portland Rescue Mission
Since 1949, the Portland Rescue Mission has provided hope, transformation and total life recovery to the homeless. Their goal is to break the cycle of homelessness and help people to change and find new meaning in their lives through Jesus Christ.
We at Murray Hills Christian Church in "continuing the ministry that Jesus began" share in the work of the Portland Rescue Mission:
- On the first Tuesday of each month, 4 to 8 people help serve the evening meal to 150 to 200 guests at the Portland Rescue Mission.
- Each month clothing is collected for the men's shelter and Shepherd's Door. Shepherd's Door is Portland Rescue Mission's ministry to homeless women and children.
- Chapel services are conducted at least 3 evenings a week at the downtown men's shelter.
- We encourage participate in other areas of Portland Rescue Mission's activities and events.
If you would like to participate in any or all of these opportunities of sharing Christ's love,
