Week of Compassion

For the last 10-12 years Week of Compassion has received outstanding support from the congregation. Murray Hills is one of the top per capita givers in the Oregon Region. In 1993 several women from the congregation attended a special Regional training event led by Johnny Wray and that sparked a much greater interest in the mission of Week of Compassion. The Outreach Committee has continued to educate the congregation about the important and far-reaching ministry that Week of Compassion has been carrying out on our behalf for 60+ years. We continue to stress that Week of Compassion carries out a ministry of Disaster Relief, Refugee Assistance and Development Aid in the United States and around the world. We know that Week of Compassion may be one of the first on the scene of a disaster and in many cases (Bosnia, for instance) one of the last to discontinue development aid. Because Week of Compassion is ministering to those in need year round we encourage people to give throughout the year. Murray Hills Christian Church is very Passionate about Week of Compassion!
