Bell Choir Director – Cindy McNew Cindy McNew has directed the Murray Hills Bell Choir since the fall of 2006, one year after she joined as a ringer. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Butler University in 1996 and her Master of Music degree in choral music from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002, and she has directed choirs professionally at both the high school and middle school levels. A singer all her life, including years with the premier choral ensembles at both Butler and the University of Illinois, she also plays the piano and flute. Her various experiences have given her a love for many styles of music, from early and Renaissance through the great choral masses and cantatas and Romantic-era songs to bluegrass and jazz.
